polished valve cover......sorta

well, decided to polish the valve cover on the balt.....however I couldn't find any polishing wheels around here, so I did the sanding and made due with some polishing compound and elbow grease haha....well, it looks much better then stock. Just have to get some polishing wheels and hit it up again and make it shine.

Wow... that looks really nice... not mirrored, but good and clean. I guess all of us club members know what we're doing next... how hard was that?

lol, it will be mirrored when I get to sears or someplace and find a polishing wheel to finish it up. Aside from that it wasn't to bad....took about 10 minutes to get the valve cover off, then some time with like 4 different grits of sand paper, then some polishing compound.....I'm happy with it sofar, it looks much nicer then stock

Yes, but if you knew my husband you would know that hes super impatient. Usually when he paints something too, he gets impatient and it looks great and then he does the last coat and there are rusn galore on it. Thats why I was amazed when he showed me my cover that he painted and there were no runs.....but this is why I painted my headlights, he just took them apart. LOL!

I'm going to hit up sears this week and look for some wheels to put in my die grinder and some good compound, hopefully I can get it to shine up a bit more. It actually looks much nicer in person, but I want a little more bling lol

Thanks for the cimpliments guys.. i polished the whole thing, realized it was impossible to do the side.. for me anyways... then i grabbed some high heat gloss black, and high heat clear coat.. and self etching primer.. and taped off where I wanted to paint and painted it.. haha.. simple as that..

as for the pic with the cover on, the cover is still being worked on, its got a special paint scheme as well, and im just trying to figure out the best way to tape it up, thinking pin stripin will work the best.. we'll see..

anyways thanks again for the compliments
