Scythe_Snake's Rear Seat Delete

Little mini update. Nothing crazy but more of something I've always wanted to do. No one can get into the backseat unless I take the harness bar out anyway, and I don't really want someone back there either So I had my upholstery guy make a rear seat delete for the car. Now, let me first and foremost say that Pwerks/Matt Omiotek was the first to rock this thing and its made a bit differently. You can buy one from them on their website. Mine was made custom to what i wanted, and the guy is wanting to make more of them.

So here are the pictures. They ALL suck, because its harder than you think taking a picture of the back seat of your car with a cell phone lol. Enjoy!

Shitty instagram cropped pic to lighten it up so it could actually be seen.

The wrinkles in the bottom piece were steamed out already, this was just during development.

Pwerks' kit says 42lbs and the material I used is around the same weight. All the stuff I took out weighed about 50lbs though.

The pics are as-is lol. its a pain in the ass to get good pictures of it really.

He said he would charge people 250 + shipping for black carpet, but for any other material it would be a price increase.

You can fit four in there lol easily as well. Christ, coming from 2 door honda's and DSM's etc the cobalt might as well be as big as a caddy in the back.

So is this just a molded carpet overlay or is there more to it?

There prolly in the 2900 range. But unless you go stripping the **** out of them your not able to lose to much weight really. I am pretty sure I had less weight then Ryan does and I weighed mine the last time at the track, same as I drive around on and with me in it was 3050.

Can you still use the bottom as a shelf?

Like, could my 80 pound shepherd still lay back there?

More to it. The bottom is a fixed piece of material to go straight across.

As chris said, definitely not. With all the added and taken off weight of everything else. I'd guess low 2900s though. 2700s is like crazy low! lol

You should be able to yes. the board is light weight but strong, and the carpet helps its strength. Other things yeah, but I'm not 100% sure on if your dog can go back there. Groceries or other things for sure. (as we know our canines like to put their weight all on one part lol)
