From Stock to Not. 56k = DEATH
This is my showcase from what ive done to the car over the last 2+ years.
First is a picture of my stock cobalt

The next pictures are of the SS/SC wing i got off of a granite cobalt and the fart can i put on. When i got the car there really wasnt much i knew about for modding on the 2.2. I knew i wanted a body kit first but they wern't being made yet

A year later i saw the first body kit available, so i picked it up. the drifter 2 kit. While i was in virginia my buddy back in michigan painted the body kit to match using the paint code from my vin number. He did a good job.

When i got back to michigan i started puting the body kit on. Started with the front and then went to the back.

The back didnt fit at all. the wheel wells were off on each side by half an inch. the edge by the tail lights and the trunk stuck into the trunk by 1/4 inch. So while i came up with a way to get it to i drove the car down to my uncles shop and had him weld in duel exhaust. I had also taken the wing off and painted it to match and installed the side skirts.

I finaly desided to cut the body kit rear bumper in half and mold it into the stock bumper.

After that i got a short ram intake by weapon R

After i got back to virginia i started working on the interior

About a year later i started with engine work and let a performance shop do the work

A few months later i got a nitrous kit and the shiftplus kit for my automatic

With in the last from months i bought some new rims, a CAI, and did some more interior work to the trim to make it match my rims.

Here she is at night just before i left for deployment.

Wow big props for modding a 2.2 to 250whp. Yah, ya used n20 (kinda cheating) but still props. I agree, body kit aint for me, but its nice to see a 2.2 thatll go fast like a real cobalt should!
just under 9k. when i return from deployment im droping 4k more for the STS remote mount turbo and hope to get to 380-400 whp or so. Also will be having a shop back in michigan that specialises in rebuilding automatic tranys with titanium gearing to support up to 900 wtrq. the trany work has been quoted to me at 1800
other than sideskirts its good. front and rear are nice. if the doors were not a low spot between the skirts it would look better. do let us know how the STS works out. ive read about half n half good n bad on them. i was looking at using an STS on my silverado, its either that or a KB twin screw.
+REP to you for modding the **** outta that car--looks and sounds like it performs great! That's a great build--esp on a 2.2!! I like all of the engine work you've done--I could only dream of affording those kinds of things for mine. Props to you for making an old car junkie proud. One question though..how the hell did you get the inside door panels/inserts off? I've been thinking about doing mine in silver velvet.
One thing... you mean to tell me that you get 250+hp with just nitrous, and no turbo or supercharger? That's freakin SWEET.
From one military member to another: stay safe out there.
I know a guy here with 2.2--maybe he'll be interested in your complete build once you get the turbo on.

the only bad thing i can see is water splashing up on to the turbo but i have already had the HT's on my ship make me a custom weather shield made of stainless steel. Its more a splash guard then anything else but hey, it helps. I would have had them make a box but i want everyone to hear the turbo spooling up.

the 251whp, that is a yes and no answer to the question. yes because its a 125 hp set up -20% loss from the transmission to the wheels that makes it 100 whp over the what i already dyno'd at which was 151whp before the nitrous.
The no part comes in here. In first gear i only use a 50hp dry shot for stage 1 at 3k rpms to 6k rpms which makes the car about 197whp or so for the first 120 to 150 feet of the 1/4 mile. Once i shift into second stage 2 kicks in which uses 50hp dry and 75hp wet at the same time putting the car at 251whp for the duration of the 1/4 mile. Haven't had the chance to run the car in the 1/4 mile w/ the nitrous set up yet.
what i can predict for the 1/4 mile time is this (and this is just a guestamate). My buddies base cobalt w/ a stick ran a 16.7 in the 1/4 as well as my automatic base cobalt stock. when he used his nitrous 75hp dry shot he droped his time to 15.1. The way i see it ill be using 50 more hp of nitrous then his set up and that should send me into the 14.5 or faster range. He isnt that good at shifting so with my shift plus kit that eliminated the lag from my automatic shifting in the gears i couls say it would be a safe bet that i run a 14.1-14.3. But thats just a guestamate. I'll be happy just braking into the 14's and i can pretty much garantee that one just because im using 50hp more nitrous then my buddies set up
If your buddy wants help with the build, the GM 2.2 ecotec build guide is the best place to start. Also talk to halfcent, he has a fully built 2.2 cobalt engine as well.
