Honestly don't remember, the concussion erased a little bit before the accident, I only remember parts of them towing the car, finding car parts spread everywhere, inter-cooler seemed to fly away.

Wow, sorry to see your car like that but glad to hear no one was hurt, yourself included. Sometimes those situations are completely unavoidable. Your baby loved you too, kept you safe.

Do you people know how airbags work? There are sensors that have to be hit for the airbag to deploy. They are on the core support and in the b pillar. The impact was on the drivers side wheel. That's why they didn't go off.

OP, glad to hear you're okay. Perfect example of the crumple zones of the car doing their job.

Hey man, I'm just glad to hear that your ok. Cars can be replaced and I personally know what your going through. I totalled my SS/TC in June 21 2009. It sucked but I came out fine. Down the road I got a VW GLi, but with time I now have another LNF, sky redline. If you see my Sig I don't have it posted cause I miss Ron Burgundy( cars name Sport Red Tint). Godspeed for a recovery Bro. Were all here to help out. Btw, judging from the picture looks like the guy upstairs wanted you stick around. Take care

In regards to the airbags... it's apparent they weren't needed in this particular impact. He walked away virtually unharmed. Airbags can be dangerous alone, and it makes sense they would only be triggered in certain types of impacts as a last resort.

Best thing you can do is always wear your seatbelt. Im surprised a lot of people don't. I'm always yelling at a particular friend who never wears hers. She's also totalled two cars (1 she passed out on the highway & 2 she was t-boned at an intersection - not her fault) and was luckily wearing her belt both times, but most of the time she doesnt. I dont see why you wouldnt. My x totaled his Ramcharger while I was in the car, we hit a tree at idk 30mph +/-, head on, and Ill take the bruiseI had where the seatbelt was across my chest over what would have happened to my face against the windsheild.

OP glad you're OK, and the airbags, functioning as intended. Don't need those things going off in that crash.

Nope, would do more harm than good. Crumple zones ftw.

It's simply god punishing you for buying a sedan... get the coupe while you have a chance, much higher chance of airbag deployment, look 20x better, and completely invincible in collisions.

Everyone has their opinions on what they like, IMO the sedan looks better since there are like 20x less of them then the coupes.

Glad to see you are ok and buy another sedan, they are the way to go.

Also the SS sedan was only made for one year, and I must say I like the color he's going for. But seriously glad to hear you walked away, I've also totalled a cobalt although it was a 06 2.4 SS. Airbags didnt deploy in my wreck either, as they shouldnt have because it was not a frontal impact, but on the front passenger corner and in the rear (car went nose first into a ditch rebounded spun around 180 degrees and the rear hit a huge rock).

I'm glad to hear you're physically fine, and hope you come out (financially) ok on this one.

I'm lucky to be alive, let alone unhurt.
I'm looking at someone selling a sport red tintcoat sedan for about 16 Grand. Same year, same miles and extended warranty. I am hoping to grab my retrofits, somehow they both survived, hopefully pull all my speakers out and find my ipod tomorrow. I want my R1 rotors and springs back off this car, idk if they could make it happen tho...

Thanks for the concern, I loved my balt more than anything.

just now reading this thread again....
