I think with the SS S/C's lower bumper piece, the hitch will be even more covered up.

do me a favor, it's ok to have a hitch but it's not ok to get those ***** that are actually a pair of nut sacks that swing. I get so bothered by that all the time.

Otherwise it's ok, what are you trailering? If it's my ex girlfriend good luck meeting the weight limit.

WOOHOO!! It can be done. I was fearing that I would have to get rid of my fishin boat (14' aluminum with a 9.8hp Merc). What Kind of weight limit would y'all put on our cars? My boat and trailer weight about the same as a single jetski on a two place trailer.

What brand/model number is the hitch?

Thnx

I ordered a hitch to put on my SS/SC on Monday.. I'm going to install it and take pics when it comes in. Chevy rates the SS to tow 1000 lbs, and says no towing on a base model with a manual trans. Probably doesn't have enough power.

I'm not planning on using it until August when I need to rent a uhaul trailer and bring all my crap to a different state. I'll let you guys know how it pulls when the time comes.

I tow a single seadoo on a two place trailer. It tows fine. Like it was said, we can tow 1000lbs as long as your car is automatic, or a SS manual (I have no idea why).

lol, I'd never get that, no worries

looks dumb real dumb. cant wait to see the trailer too.

by the way. ss/SC says in the manual no towing. probably cause they know the clutch cant handle it.

if you have a auto transmission besure to get a cooler. huge difference and you will save the tranny. (yep I said the "tranny" word)

Ssnipes, have you actually read the Manual? My booklet for the 2006 cobalt says, and I quote
Towing a Trailer (Manual Transmission)

Do not tow a trailer if your vehicle is equipped with a manual transaxle. If you have the Cobalt SS, you can tow a trailer. See "Towing a Trailer" in the Index for more information.
This is from page 4-46.

Yes I do read. why would you say that. and there are different manuals. Mine is 2005. there is no mention of SS/SC in it. Just says manual transmission no go with hitch. You provided page 4-46? that is not in the 2005 book. pages go up to 4-44 only. Since you assume I dont read then I guess I can assume you had a period of psychosis with hallucinations, right. give me a break its a new book. my manual also says the 2.0L takes 4.7L of oil but it takes 5.8L.

go figure.
