Alright guys, I recently discovered I could repaint my car for less than the price of a Hahn Intercooler. Im thinking about taking advantage of this opportunity to do a cool Two-tone on my car. I will be painting it silver, and then putting a different color candy over it, which is just a transparent color that gets mixed in with clearcoat to change the color. The colors im going from is a light orange, or a lime green. I wanna keep the color light, dont really want a dark color car. I really like the orange, my girlfriend prefers the green. Now the silver that will be going down first has coarse metallics in it so they will shine through the color and pop real nice, so it would be an ornage with a silver metallic look to it. Same with the green.
The hood roof and trunk would be painted gloss black and was thinking about adding some metal flake to match the car. Orange would have a tiny bit of Orange flake in the black. Or might just spray the ornage candy over the black to see what kind of effect it has, still have to do some spray out cards when i get the color. But anyways, heres the pics.
Ignore the different shade of black on the side of the hood. woudl all be gloss black

These are NOT exact colors, just what I could come up with on my computer to give you an idea of the shade im looking for.
I will be welding the trunk holes and going wingless. And will be removing the interior silver trim pieces and bezels and color matching them to the outside.
Opinions? let me know!

and dont say nothing beats factory paint. Say that to the several years of GM peelers where there paint and primers had a chemical reaction and within a year or two the paint would seperate from the car. Im sure you have seen cars rolling around with missing paint or paint that flakes off in pancakes with a powerwasher or airnozzle. GM decided it was more cost effective to leave them alone and pay the bodyshops to strip and repaint the cars when the people would complain about it 2 years from then. And several cars are repainted in areas before you even get them delivered due to damage on the production line/in transit. just thought that was interesting when i heard it
