09 LS cooling fan gremlins
09 LS cooling fan gremlins
My Cobalt has been extremely reliable since I bought it new in 09. However, I've been having some issues with it running warm. It does not burn or leak coolant. About 8 weeks ago, the rad fan stopped working. I found a blown 30A fuse, switched it, and all was good for a couple weeks until the other 30A fuse blew. Replaced it, and all was fine until last weekend. Car was getting warm driving in town, (about 205 at this point) so I pulled over to check fuses, which were all good. Puzzled I started the car back up, and the fan was still not turning. When I turned the AC on, the fan started. It was better, but still a little warm. Maybe the fan was only running on low speed? It was good for a couple days, then started getting warm again. I turned the heat on max to get to a safe parking spot (running the heat did cool the car off some). Thoughts on what to try first? I'm tempted to just get a new fan and relays, but unfortunately cash is a little short right now. Babysitting the temp gauge is getting very old.
