my car wont move in 1st or reverse. wats wrong and how much to get it fixed

 

mine does this too sometimes, i would like to find out what other people have to say about this too!

 

What do you mean it won't move? The car will not pull forward or backward, or it won't shift?

 

What about second?
I can get my car going from a dead stop in second gear if I carefully feather the clutch and give it some gas.

 

...I wouldn't recommend making a habit of that.

 

Ya it was an accident. I'm relitivaly new to Manual transmitions, and I thought I was in first.
When I went to shift to 2nd and found i was already there it explaned why it was so hard to get going. Haha.

Also I know that my car will not start out in 3rd.
And your right it's not the best for it, But if it wont move in first,
then you could do it once for troubleshooting or to get the car going
home. My brother's S10 was low on clutch fluid and he
was unable to use 1st and second gear, He had to get his
S10 going from 3rd.

So ya, on that thought, Check your brake/clutch fluid.

 

ill shift into 1st gear and let the clutch out and it wont move or at least it will do it very slowly and in 2nd gear it take me hitting the gas so it does idk

Congratulations, you get to do a clutch job!

Save up for a new clutch and slave cylinder/throw out bearing!

I cant come up with exact numbers but with all oem parts my best guess will be... ~$1500-$2000
