Cool 2.0 hesitation and studdering

i have 20, 700 miles on my car and i have a miss at idle and during acceleration, the car seems to studder if you will. like its just missing like crazy or struggling to find the correct air/fuel ratio. i am not sure but it is definatly annoying. for instance racing a vette last night, i was getting on it and it seemed like it didnt want to go, it was just studdering and finally got over it then it started again after shifting. i know its not because i was shifting too low, i mean i was running to 6k rpm. it will do this during normal driving as well. does anyone have any information on this or had similar experiences?

i took it into the dealer because it has been bothering me and they drove it and took snap shots of when it was doing it with the tech II but said everything looked normal. sooo they said maybe it was normal, but i have a hard time believing that....

i read mention of a possible undersized fuel rail causing problems in the #4 cyl. can someone please explain this a little more to me? and could this cause the problem i am having? thanks

oh and fyi, the vette didnt get away from me, we were neck n neck til traffic, then once cleared we got back on it and I shredded an alt belt so i had to take it easy to get home since i was only 2miles away lol.

Question Missing under acceleration

I am having the same problem the engine will miss under acceleration, it does it under normal and hard acceleration, I am Thinking plugs or a fuel delivery problem, maybe the fuel filter is dirty. Anybody have any other ideas?

hmmm, i did some follow up reading on this and have an interesting theory...

i have been noticing a noise coming from the engine compartment. kind of like a severe rattling. i primarily notice it during deceleration. for instance, if you rev it up and let off you will hear it more prominant as it idles down. i took this to the dealer and first thing they did was replace the supercharger. low and behold, noise still there. so i took it back and suggested perhaps the idler/tensioner pulley. i notice that the dampner for it wobbles like crazy. well they then replace it and i still was noticing the noise. so i took it back in this time complaining about the missing in the engine. well, they dont think its an engine noise and they cant figure where its coming from.

so i read this post about some noise and performance issues. turns out, it was a timing chain tensioner. so my theory is that these problems could all be related to this issue. since timing has to do with ignition and performance. i would assume that it would also make some noise. let me know what you all think, but i am thinking perhaps that we are on to something. i hope atleast because i hate the way it sounds.
