It's the same design as the J-body's with the ecotec which I've done several times, but there isn't enough clearance to get a 3/8" ratchet between the tensioner and engine cradle to rotate the tensioner downward releasing the belt. What kind of special tool do I need to release the tensioner, or what are others using to get it done?

any parts store will have a "shimmy" with a 3/8 end on it that should help you get it on

cool thanks. I assume this "shimmy" is just like a flat bar with a 3/8 square on it?
