2.4 ecotec oil leak!!!

Hey peeps. I have an oil leak on my cobalt that I've had for about two years Now and I can't figure out where it's coming from. I've replaced the oil pan gasket, and the timing chain cover. The oil seems to be leaking from the block behind/near the AC compressor, and runs down the subframe. Help!

Either the front cover seal or the crank seal on the cover. Crank seal is very easy to change, pop the belt off, zip the crank pulley off, yank the old seal out, oil the new seal, and tap it in gently with a matching socket. They come with a green cover that allows you to tap it into place to get it fully seated.

I've already replaced the timing cover gasket. I bought the kit and I think it had that crank seal with it.

Did you torque the timing cover gasket properly with a torque wrench, and were you careful not to tear the crank seal when installing the crank pulley? Only thing I can tell you is try to locate what areas of the engine are wet and snap a few pics, check the rear of the engine by the timing chain tensioner, around that front cover seal, and around the crank pulley for wet spots. Go from there.

Yep torqued them right, was real careful with the seals. In order to get a picture I would have to unbolt the AC compressor as it's directly behind it

You can take the plastic splash shield down as well to get a good look. I went through this as well, turned out to be the crank seal.

It looks like it's leaking from a small pinhole from the block the last time I remember. I'll snap some pics here in a few days whenever I get some free time
