2 codes and airbag light help.

I have 2 codes that my car threw up. one is P0128 and the other is p0106. Also my air bag light is on. Is their away to fix these problems with out the dealer? I talked to the Guy at my dealer and he said that even the SRI i have on will void my warranty and I don't want to pay them $90 just to have them look at it and say theirs nothing they can do like last time.

If the Cobalt throws the same codes and maulfunctions as my g/f's Aveo did, get your security module looked at. On the Aveo if it malfunctions it throws a P0106 and also starts to cut power to all secondary sensors. When her's went to hell and finally failed to start the car threw the P0106, air bag lights were on, it didn't know if her seatbelt was fastened or not, etc. Again, this is assuming our car uses simlar codes but the problem was a pain in the ass to diagnose on her's.

As far as warrany I'm under the understanding that they can't just void your warranty but have to prove that part had a direct effect to what happened to the car, like an aftermarket tune and blowing the motor up. But in my case my dealer said "its fine to do a CAI as long as it's not a ebay pos" lol

Have you tryed just having a buddy clear them or having them cleared at advancedauto? Do you Know what those codes are?

Yeah, My dealer said similar....Put all I want on it, it will not void the warranty! If an aftermarket part is in direct effect of the problem then warrenty will not cover that problem. So basically if I put charge piping, SRI, intercooler, and a BPV spring and something goes wrong internally they will have to prove that one or all of those mods caused it. and I doubt that those mods would cause an internal problem. Take the car back, tell them that and if they still refuse then call Chevrolet Customer Service. Thats exactly what I did and then the next thing I know the old dealership called me and asked me to bring it in... Warranty covered it all!
