I bought a 2006 cobalt ss supercharged about 3 weeks ago. I noticed the shifter was loose and sloppy but didn't think much of it cuz it still went into gear fine and drove fine. But 3 days ago omw to work and i was having problems getting it into first cuz that's how much play that's in the shifter. Yesterday it drove like it did when I got it. So I'm thinking its the cable from the shifter to the tranny. Has anyone had this problem and if so what was it?

If the roll pin breaks, you lose everything.

His issue sounds more like a worn out shifter bushing or loose cables.
