I’m not sure how to check my tranny fluid level. I heard to fill it up till it dribbles out of the full hole but that wasn’t for a 2.0l so I wasn’t sure if it was any different.

 

The 2.0L's are the same. You need to make sure that the car is level when you do the fill. You should probably drain and fill, if it's never been done before. Break the fill plug loose first - you don't want to drain the fluid only to find out that you can't get the fill plug out (but there are ways to fill if that happens - i.e. through the speed sensor hole or the reverse switch hole), plus having the fill plug out when you drain will help the fluid flow smoother.

And don't cheap out on the fluid - read the thread linked below. Most people will recommend sticking with the GM fluid for the car; it's pretty good stuff.
