2nd gear hiccup

Its only happened twice now within the last three months. When at WOT in second gear around 5000 rpm i get a large hiccup that feels like a big knock. The car hesitates for a second and then picks up right where it left off. As of now all I have is the gmpp manifold any ideas on what it could be? I was thinkin plugs.

Mine also does that once in a while since the weather has cooled. Same gear, same place.

Can happen with mine too - until Warm Operating Temp(spelled that out - not sure which "WOT" you were referring to) is reached. What temp did it happen at?

WOT in this case is wide open throttle, as in flooring it. Which, for me at least, I never do until the car is warmed up.

How much boost are you running? Sometimes with mine I would get a HUGE miss and a backfire with flames, it was the spark blowing out and all the unburned fuel (2.6" w/60s there was A LOT) was igniting out the exhaust system. I would suggest new plugs, or if you already have new plugs, then a closer gap. I used HP tuners to solve my problem, but a closer gap is a good alternative.

WOT is wide open throttle for me and operating temp was at least 160. The thing is I dont have any boost mods right now im only pushing 12-13 lbs. so i wouldnt think i should have any issues with blow-out. I'd say i could take it to the dealer but its not reliably repeatable and what are they going to do anyways?

Yeah, I've been meaning to re-gap them for some time now, but it seems I'm always too busy or just don't remember. I set them at .038 when I put them in, but I'm thinking .035 would be better. At least until I can get it tuned.

It maybe worth mentioning that the PCM can reduce boost in second gear at high RPMs if you are using stock tuning.
