2nd Gear slip
2nd Gear slip
K I had an interesting run today. My boss pulled up next to me at a light in a V6 Ecllipse. OF course he gave the look. The light turned green and I got a great launch, pounded into second and felt a slip, thought it was the tires breaking loose, so I punched it, I got a good jump on him wanted to make a little smoke. It slowly hooked up and I still beat him to 60. When I slowed down I realized it wasn't tire spin, but the clutch. The nasty smell was the first clue.
. I tried to repeat it several times and never got it to slip at all. Anyone had this happen before? Car only has 3000 miles on it
Just a note, I lifted of the gas during the shift to 2nd instead of power shifting. I am 6'4" and its possible my long ass legs didnt get me off the clutch all the way. Just thought I would ask.

6'4" as well and i havent had the wholelong-leg problem in the balt yet....but i have had it before.......could be a reason.....also, word to the wise.....dont freerev with the clutch in and the car in gear.....i heated up the clutch in my old celica so bad doin that it slipped in every gear for about an hour
Just a small update
IT was my fault.
It happened again and this time I wanked my foot back and it engaged just fine. I had running shoes on with a big heel sticking out and it hangs up on the rubber honeycomb floormats I installed to catch all the damn rain up here.
At least it wasnt my clutch slipping
