3.0 pulley problem!?!?!

I just had a new motor put in from GM in my 05 ss. I was going to put on my 3.0 pulley and the shaft of the pulley where there should be a little hole is not there! There is just a filled in shaft. I was wonderin if the 06 motors have this or am I just screwed and will not be able to replace my pulley.......this sucks.

There must have been something wrong from the factory, that is what the mechanic said. I was going 127mph when the CEL started blinkin at me and by the time I slowed down it was too late. I know the car can handle that speed and it was broken in right. I had no compression on one of the cyliners, bent two valves from hitting the pistons, there was a missing retainer spring, and the inside of the cylinders were scored. I have the exact work order somewhere around here. But they ended up putting a whole new motor in it. But this pulley thing is really pissin me off.

Theres a black plug on the end of the shaft, i did mine last night but forgot to take it out, it just broke the plastic end off and i had to pull the insides out. It looks like its part of the shaft but its a end cap.

you can twist it off the same way as a screw you just have to use your fingers or a pair of pliers

Its the piece with the yellow dot. Stick a screw driver behind it and pop it out or try twisting it.

Ok I tried the yellow dot thing and it was just paint. There was nothing under it. So you think that it can still be unscrewed or is that just the end of the shaft. I hope that there is a hole under that and it is just a cover.

It is i just did mine last night. Stick a screw driver right infront of the pulley and behind that plastic piece and try wedge it out. Make sure its a skinny one. Or push you thumb against it and twist, it will come off.

I just installed the pulley and it works great....i think. I am getting 15psi on the stock gauge, thats not the problem. There is a squeak that comes from the belt it sounds like. Has anyone else had that problem??? Could I have put too much anit seize on the shaft? I just hope that sound isn't a problem

I was thinkin that that might be the problem. I hope that is all it is. I also felt the pulley itself after is was idleing for about 10 min and it was REALLY hot. I think I might have put too much anti seize on it. I really am lost. Should I remove the pulley or just leave it on and put the new belt on that comes with the stage kit? I am not driving the car over the winter so it is just going to be sitting there.
