4Door 05 Catalytic Converter

The problem is the car only goes 10mph when I floor it, and thats if it starts at all. It revs at 1500 to 1800 max. Its running rich and I just changed the plugs. So I think this narrows it down to being the cat, intake, o2 sensor, or exhaust malfuntion. Since the car has all these syptoms plus it shudders like chattering teeth before I start it and while I drive it Im pretty convinced its the cat so for recreational purposes lets discuss that point of view first. Now Ive never seen a catalytic converter on a Bolt, but with no money, a CEL Light on and 80k miles on the vehicle my firstest question is are these Cats at all cleanable once clogged reguardless of any suggestions there are to replace it or remove it. Next I'd ask whats the best replacement Cat for this car in terms of price and performance (PP). And after that im open to all alternatives.

Might help to state what engine you have, its either a 2.2 or a 2.4. But if you can get somebody that has a code reader and check which CEL its throwing, that will help narrow it down quite a lot.

EDIT: Didn't notice the "chattering teeth" part. is it a metallic sound? approx location of sound?

Did it start doing this before or after you changed plugs? Sounds more like an ignition issue to me....running rough and rich, no power.......sounds like a smallblock I had that had a couple of plug wires crossed. Don't know if thats even possible on the 2.2 though....

Would recheck the ignition system though, make sure everything got plugged back in right.

As always, get the code read. I'm gonna guess injector went back. Good lord my sister's car shook worse than when I shake babies.
