ac houseing and heater core seal leaking water on passenger side floor in car
i have a 2005 cobalt 2.2l 4 door base model. for the past year it has been leaking water inside the car on the passenger side floorboard whent he a/c is on. i looked online and on this website (http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...t-cobalt-6.htm) they said it was from the seal that is between the ac housing and heater core. i have been looking online and local part stores and cant find a palce where i can buy this seal. does anyone know where i could buy this seal? also is there a place online with detailed instructions on how to do this job?
thanks

There is a tsb on that and it would of been a warranty item if you would of went last year to the dealer
when you noticed the problem.
If its on record at the dealer you might be able to still get it fixed but I doubt it.

This may help
1. Remove the right side insulator/closeout panel retainers and the panel, if equipped.
2. Remove the 5 screws (1) (HHR) or break the 4 welds (2) (Cobalt/Pursuit) from the heater core cover at the specified locations.
3. Carefully pry apart the heater core cover and the lower HVAC case to achieve a 12.7 mm (0.5 in) gap.
4. Install the foam gasket, P/N 15878211, using a flat rigid tool (feeler gauge shown) into the sump area (1) of the heater core cover.
5. Reassemble the case using the 5 screws that were removed (HHR) or with new screws (Cobalt/Pursuit), P/N 11609829. For Cobalt/Pursuit, add an additional screw (2) at rear of sump area.
6. Install the right side insulator/closeout panel and retainers, if equipped.
