AC Smells like sweaty socks

Okay, as weird as it sounds and NO it's not me. Every time I turn on AC, I get this massive smell of sweaty socks. Heat is fine, air is fine, once AC button is activated... sweaty socks fill up my car even with all the air fresheners I have it overpowers them. Since it uses the same air filter regardless of the setting I don't see that being an issue... any ideas anyone?

Wouldn't it still have that smell when air is on though? Heat and air is fine, only A/C stinks but I guess I'll replace the filter why not

If its not your filter, then your Evaporator is leaking, and your smelling the refrigerant, Had it happen on a ram at work, everything smelt fine, turned ac on and blammo I could smell A/C and the oil. stupid small leak. system help pressure, but leaked oil mainly. Get a A/C service place to use a sniffer and place it in the vents, if it goes nuts, there's your problem.
