Air conditioner smells??

Okay so lately my air conditioner has been smelling awful even when off and just set to cool it smells very musty. What may be the problem and how can I fix it??

if you change it and it still smells, remove it, put the A/C on full vent with the recirc on and shoot some Antibacterial bathroom spray towards the front passenger floor. Mold may be growing on the Evaporator. Spray for about 15-20 seconds, the spray should start coming out of the vents.

At our dealership, we carry BG Frigi Fresh, its the 4th one down the page at this link.

So i replaced the cabin filter and it still smelllsss almost like a mildew throw up smell. I cant take it what else can i do?

I sprayed some febreeze but it didnt do much. I might pick some of that stuff up and do the same thing. If this doesnt cure it I dont know what the problem is.

If cleaning out the condenser like above didn't work, there may be mold or something in your vents.

Fabrize just covers odors, you need an antibacterial spray.

condenser is in the front of the car near the bumper, I think you mean evaporator

Yeah, my A/C smelled like a soldier's foot after a day or marching, that had been shoved up someone's dirty ass and set on a grill. The anti-bacterial spray did the trick.

mine in the summer for the first 2 minutes smells like cows... then it goes away. is this kinda the smell u guys are facing??? i just figured it was normal
