Air flow hood/cover assembly

Clearly the title is a best guess. not really sure what to call this, but I'm hoping someone is familiar with the issue. I'm a complete amateur, but I've had success in the past learning from this forum, so I thought I'd give it a try. This is on an 09 SS. One of the air flow hoses snapped off what i'm calling the air flow hood assembly. I can't find a replacement hood online, and If i did I'm not sure I'd know how to replace it. Can anyone tell me what this thing is called and if it's an easy fix? Any info helps at this point. The car runs fine but vibrates when it's idle. The check engine light is on and the I get the check the gas cap error at least once a day. Thought it was a purge solenoid and bought one to replace but saw the broken hose and I'm assuming that's the real issue.

you'll probably need a new intake, need to pull that nipple out of the hose while holding the latch open so you don't have to replace it too. You might be able to find a new nipple that screws in like the one that goes on the k/n sri but there isn't much meat on the factory tube to screw into.

That hose shouldn't cause any codes for the evap system but it might for the maf. its the fresh air inlet for the pcv system.

Thank you, that's a huge help. Do you think I could just replace the intake tube as opposed to replacing the entire intake? As much as I love it, I'm not sure how much more money I want to put into an 09.

That nipple breaking is really common the part that slowbalt linked to you is the best bet. even if you find another stock pipe it will eventually break again so spend your money wisely with a more durable part

Someone has done a repair: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-...r-hose-273968/ Unfortunately looks like the pictures are gone, though.
