Airbag Problems

I have driven my car (2.4SS) for a month now, I get the message to service air bag in my dash. Has anyone else had this problem so early in a Cobalt's life?

Cool

yes as a matter of fact i did. about a week ago. there is a TSB on it. its for the passanger present system. look under your passenger seat at the set of wires that plug in. if you got what happened to me...the seat rail killed them. if so...unplug you battery for 20 minutes so airbags have no chance of going off on you. tilt seat forward, and get some butt conectors (red) and reconect the cut wires. tape em up good, and zip tie the bitches out of the way of those seat rails. (it would be a good idea to zip tie the wires out of the way also. just leave the bitches in the trunk) lol

NO2 is nitrogen dioxide, a pollutant that is emitted from your tailpipe.

Co + NO2 wouldn't really do anything, however, if that NO2 was to react with moisture in the air, giving you HNO3 (nitric acid), you would have:

2HNO3 (aq) + Co (s) => Co(NO3)2 (aq) + H2 (g)

You mean to say N2O, Dinitrogen Monoxide, which is more commonly known as Nitrous oxide.

Lol, no. I took AP Chem last year, got a 4 on the AP test, that's about it.

Oh and my last equation was wrong, it should be:

HNO3 (aq) + Co (s) => Co(NO3)2 (aq) + NO2 (g) + H2O (l)
