any GM techs still here? (BCM XM/cell codes)
I bought an LNF sedan a couple years ago, and only just now got it on the road (I was in no rush).
I have a Tech 2, and can see three BCM codes that I am incline to think are related.
The codes are:
B1001
B2485
B2470
This car had a poorly installed aftermarket deck, that I believe was installed by the first owner.
By poorly installed, I mean most wires were twisted and taped together - seriously.
This is probably why the aftermarket deck rarely worked.
I removed everything including the aftermarket sirius receiver and everything else I could find - I am not going to lie, it was a royal PITA to fix all the sloppy wiring.
I am confident that before the (replacement) carpet was installed, everything looked good.
I have gone through this car, fixed all the wiring related to the aftermarket junk, and installed (and unlocked) a correct radio for this car (according to the option codes, that car is a base deck; I had one from another '09 SS I parted many years ago)
Everything functions correctly, and I did not deleted the BCM codes, incase that might screw myself in trying to fix everything.
I just pulled the rear dash to confirm that the XM box was there and connected;
I then pulled the headliner to confirm that it to was connected.
I cannot see anything that is disconnected.
First:
Do BCM codes stay stored once they are triggered?
Second, assuming these "B" codes do not stay stored, and are relevant to the was the car is currently configured and running;
does the combination of these codes point to one probable place to look?
I have the factory service manuals, and am thinking that since this car was screwed with in the past, that there might be something I neglected to address which might trigger these three codes.
Thoughts?
