Auto LT Stalls When Making Hard Turns
Hey everyone, I've had this problem 3 times and the last time almost got me killed. I was driving to Moroso in my stock LT and I had to make a U-Turn, when I stopped and then turned the wheel all the way and gunned it my car made a few weird clicking sounds and died. The steering, brakes, and ignition locked up and all the electrical shut down when there were cars hauling ass in my direction. I had to throw it in park and start it real quick and just sort of puttered off onto the shoulder until the engine magically went back to normal. The other two times were similar in that one was a U-Turn and the other was pulling into a tight parking spot. It seems to be when I turn the wheel all the way but its done it to me when im accelerating slowly and quickly. I broiught it to the dealer today and Im hoping they can friggin figure it out before friday afternoon because I have to drive 1300 miles back to NY from FL now that Im done with school for the summer. Anyone else have this problem?
I've run into this with a few cars at my dealership. Turns out they were using bad gas, and when they turned all the contaminants and dirt went into the restrainor on the fuel pump and clogged it up and caused the stalling condition. I'd say run strictly with the quality fuel such as chevron cause they have been top tier approved, also mobil1, and places such as that.
I only run 89 octain and have never had a stalling issue. I thought it would have something to do with the fuel sending unit not moving with the gas but I guess not.
Glad you are getting it fixed though

Thanx a ton for the help dnb, I went to the dealership today and the idiots said, oh well your air box was misaligned and was sucking more ait we think the extra air triggered the sensors in the MAF and blah blah blah and they fed me line after line of bullshit telling me extra air caused my car to stall. They just didnt wanna do a major job like that. Im driving 1300 starting tomorrow nite I hope this **** doesnt happen on the wya home, lol. My dad works for Cadillac and Hummer and I'll have one of his techs look at it. Thanx a ton but if anybody else has had this problem let me know of any other possible causes.
