battery problems

battery problems

i have been though 2 batterys in the past mounth i boutght optima red top one lasted about 3 weeks and then it stoped taking a charge so i got a new one on monday went out to start the car this morning and it was dead any one eles run to this before?

i did but it is all out of the car now has been for like 3 months i don't understand it.

Sounds like a short in the system somewhere. If you have an aftermarket system something is not hooked up correctly. If you have pulled EVERYTHING out and put it back to stock there is still something that is shorting out the system. Could be that the alternator has shot crap as well.

yea i checked the alternator a couple of times and they said it was good.

check your grounds. if you went through 2 batteris, and the alternator is good, then it's probably a bad ground somewhere. i would pick up a cheap voltage meeter so you can keep an eye on it.

do the old diy alternator test...start car..undo negative battery terminal...if car keeps running alt. is good

yea well for that couple of days it has started it's a little slow in the morning but after that it's fine im going to look over every thing this weekend and see if i come up with anything. Thanks for the help everyone.
