Absolutely recommend ripping apart the stock fob if you're handy with a soldering iron and re-doing the connections between the battery holder and the board.

Since I had bought my 'balt I had issues with me needing to hold down lock for a few seconds and it being touchy to unlock (though the trunk button always worked fine)...(never had tried the panic button..). Then this past year after dropping my keys and suddenly having nothing work on the fob, ripped it apart and the entire piece holding the battery was broke off. Soldered all of the connections back in (and not the crap tiny job done by factory) and it was like a whole new world... quick hit? lock, quick hit? unlock. It's how I always imagined it should act :P
