Boost leak test, need help.
I know I have a boost leak cause my boost will spike now at 30 then drop back down to 26 psi through the pull and it is taking the car slittle longer to spool. So I put the boost leak tester on and start. Well it will not build pressure. I cannot find the leak anywhere.
Now I have done this plenty of times and huge leaks will hold pressure for atleast a few seconds, this time it won't even build a few psi. I cannot find anywhere that it is coming out. Any ideas that I can check?

U Put the leak tester on and start? As in start the car. Hope not. Where do u put the tester on? It should go on right after the turbo on the upper charge pipe, if u do it on the turbo u will not build pressure. How I did it is I put 26 psi of air into the system cause I only have 22 psi tune, at whatever pressure ur leak starts u should hear the air rushing out, mine was good till 15 then I starte hearing air loudly. If its not building psi at all maybe the tester has a leak.
yeah bro, a proper boost leak tester doesn't require you to turn on the vehicle. You just need an air compressor and a minimal amount of psi (less than 10). If you're only symptom is that you are experiencing boost spike, that is normal with most internally gated turbochargers on an aggressive tune.

I didn't mean start the car, I meant to start testing it as in turn the compressor on. Second I have an open waste gate so I never get a boost spike it normally just climbs and holds. I put the boost leak tester on the inlet of the turbo where the intake goes. It's the way I have always done it. Now I know I have an exhaust tick and I can't find where it's coming from. This is the reason I'm doing the boost leak test. Could being that I have a leak on the exhaust side somewhere cause it to not build pressure?
i'd say so. or at least it may play partly to why it spools rather slowly. If I may make a suggestion: hook the boost leak tester somewhere after the maf sensor. This way you can also see if there's any leaks around the intake mani, throttle body, gaskets, sensors, etc.

I hooked it up at the throttle body it built pressure but dropped it pretty quick. It seems to be leaking around the waste gate. Maybe where you take it off to replace the spring. I'm gonna try and get to it sometime this week. I wonder if that's where the exhaust tick is coming from. Is there room to take the exhaust manifold off without removing the turbo?
It shouldn't even work at the inlet of the turbo, u shouldn't be able to get any pressure to stay there. That's how mine did when I tried and someone told
Me I shouldnt. Do it just after and see how that goes
