Wow I never thought of this! I guess I've been doing the wrong thing ever since I took my wheel off.

Tried it. It doesn't work. Its not that easy. They aren't moving at all other than the one. They are completely seized.

Wow, mine did the same thing, I hit 30k miles on my car and when I went to use a drift punch to punch them out, I chipped them so their was about 20% left of the pin nub to hit, i said **** it and brought it into the dealer... after i got it back, I had scour marks on the areas of the pin holes... looks like they had a rough time as well.

what chris said is right. You have to be aggressive with heat but if you get carried away you can damage the caliper no doubt. I stopped doing the exchange PC service as I kept getting junk calipers sent back. I have gotten pretty good at fixing calipers but frankly its not worth rebuilding them, buy new, Crate Engine Depot.com

maintenance. its a tough life.

After doing some additional searching, Other than GMPD or CED, I was able to find the guide pins at NAPA. It is still a special order part but they are about $20 cheaper than the before mentioned places. Here is the info.
Caliper Hardware Kit - Front
Part Number: UP 83887A
Product Line: NAPA Ultra Premium Brake Parts

Looks like the car will be on Jack Stands until next weekend. :-(

^^^ you can buy cheap pins on rock auto. You may find they are too short. A lot of the cheap stuff doesnt work. and is not stainless. But then without extra maintenance in snow belt/salt road environments, it doesn't matter what material the pins are made of...

I wouldn't recommend aftermarket pins, they're usually shorter and can come out, if the pins are that hard to come out order new pins, the way I got mine out, instead of punching them out, first try putting vice grips and turn the pins, that will break them free, at least worked for me

The aftermarket ones I got from rockauto are perfect sized. Only difference is they don't have the indents in the center of them for the tabs of the pad springs to sit in.

I've looked back at my order from rock auto when I ordered everything and it says the pins are no longer available.
