Broken Piece off LNF Intake
Well, I was installing my K&N drop in filter during my lunch the other day and everything was going smooth until I put the cover back on the intake box and I noticed a hose sticking up. The little nipple things broke clean off the intake. Here is what I'm talking about...

Wondering if anyone else has done this. If so what did you do to fix it or is buying a new intake the only option. Thanks for the help guys

I broke mine too when I installed my Hahn intake. I took it to chevy and had to order the steel braided line that had the quick connect attatched. It was 32$. It was on national backorder when I did it like 2 months ago. I believe it's called a pcv line someone correct me cause I don't think that's right. I just rigged mine up with tape so that it was connected until mine came in.

I tried takin it to the dealership and one, when I popped my hood and they saw my red charge pipes one of the services started whispering something to a guy who was helping me. Guy was all like, "uhhh you should go talk to so and so before you warranty anything..." then he walked away. The guy helping me was lookin to get it warranted. But then the ****** practically talked him out of it. All said and done he said they can't warrant it because of "how" it broke. I was like...ummm...ok. He said it would cost about $270 thats with labor. I told him I could do it myself and he said the part cost about $70. I guess they would reorder the center tube of the intake with the nipple...
I think they were giving me **** cause of my charge pipes which have NOTHING to do with the fact that GM made some parts of this car outa ****** Play Doh...

Yea that was me. I'll let you know though. I'ma try the appoxy thing first. I really don't feel like spending a bunch of coins on something like this ya know? I will have I have too...but yea. I'll keep in touch
That is the PCV line. Positive Crankcase Ventilation. It vents the crankcase and sucks unwanted vapors out of the engines internals and into the combustion air inlet tract to be burned so as not to vent them to the atmosphere. It's part of the anti pollution package and it's pretty much the first line of defense and has been around since Christ was an alter boy. Having said that and probably dooming myself to eternal damnation, be DAMN careful around that nipple. ANYTHING that gets into it, accidentally or purpously, is going straight to the turbo. If it was me I'd consider this a good time for a NEW stock part, SRI or CAI. You think a new intake pipe is expensive?? The underlying problem is that hose is stretched WAY to tight from the factory. The aftermarket CIA intakes, and others, are made of metal and that nipple is welded on which should eliminate this problem.
But that's just ME.
Hope I didn't offend anyone with the simple explanation. Many people don't even know what PCV stands for let alone what it does and how.
