Bucking Bronco - Cold Starts
Bucking Bronco - Cold Starts
On cold starts shifting to 2nd I'm always getting the dreaded "bucking bronco" effect. Once the car warms up, after 5 minutes or so everything is fine. My mods are listed below. Anybody else getting this or have a cure for this ?
When the engine is cold, the rpm doesn't drop as fast when you let off the gas, so if you shift the same as always, when you let out the clutch is pulls the rpm down and makes it seem like you can't drive. Shift a little slower than normal for the first few miles or so. It happened to me and couldn't figure it out at first.
It's leaning out. It did that to me the first day after stage 2 and I was like WTF.
I am having a little 3\4 throttle leaning as well. WOP said it was leaning out right from the start and I watched my WEGO and sure enough it goes from 13's to 16's and back over and over creating a bucking bronco.
I watched the WEGO this morning driving up the street after firing the car up and had the bucking thing and sure enough the guage was bouncing...worse though into the 19's and back. So it leans out even more with temperature.
WOP said an HPT tune by a knowledgeable person should do the trick...or in my opinion, an "update" from GM.
