Alright this mornin I was at a traffic light when all of a sudden the car accelerated to nearly 1000rpm for a second. I had the brake applied lightly so the car jerked forward until it returned to normal idle rpm. Kinda freaked my out. Anyway car is gonna go to the dealer on monday. Anyone know of what the problem might be. I got a 2.2l w/auto tranny. Since then I have the brake applied firmly and so when this happens the car just jerks. Again it only happens for a second, but it happens about 2-3 times at the traffic light.

probably just needs a reflash.

 

It's a common problem. Your car leans out badly for a few seconds then corrects itself when sitting at idle with the brake applied.

Mine does it too. When the motor surges it's bringing the AFR back from high 17's to stoch.

 

after i got my full exahust on my car stopped doing that^^^

 

my car does it worse than it did before mods.

Dealer told me "you are imagining things"
