Car jerking wildly!

Ok, im not sure why but sometimes my balt will jerk forward and back when im in first gear just trying to slowly drive by people when leaving a gas station or anything that requires you to go under 10, and when this happens I can either slam the gas down and drive like a bat out of hell or shift into second gear and have the rpms fall so low that it feels like my car aint moving. This dont seem to happen if im going 50% to wot in first gear it only seems to do it when im only giving it a lil gas. Besides it being ******* embarrassing as hell id like to know whats wrong with the car to fix it.

happens to mine too. u just gotta get the feel for the right place on the gas pedal to go slow... if that makes sense.

^ What he said.

When you're really creeping in 1st you have to be veeerryy gentle with the gas pedal otherwise you'll start bucking. If I'm going 8-9 mph I'll coast with the clutch in and in 2nd gear, anything less and the shifter's in 1st and I'm still coasting.

the same thing happens to me sometimes. is it a serious mecanical problem or is it simple for lettin the clutch out n not giving it even gas. usually happens to anyone i let drive my car also. which i can understand they arent used to the clutch. hasnt happend to me for awhile. only had it for 4 months now or so but just wondering if its something that has to be fixed or its a common thing

It's beyond not knowing how to drive. My balt does the same thing ever since i bought it. Does it only sometimes when the motor is cold though. I can keep a steady 1/4 throttle during take off and it will buck like a bronco for a few seconds if i keep on the throttle. After reading it seems to be a pretty common problem. I found it does it worse since i put my 60lb injectors and 2.8" pulley in. Maybe something in the tune? It doesn't do it all the time. Just once and a while. I think it's just the nature of the beast

LSJ's tend to do that. You just need a better feel for the clutch and baby first gear

My buddy said it's due to larger injectors. But i don't know. For me it only does it once and a while and only when it's cold

my 2.4 does that sometimes, if I'm in first and I'm doing 10Km and will buck for a sec before gear braking happens, I figured it was normal

NORmal! with any high strung 4 banger. Give your car a treat. Change your start up ritual. Start the engine, cold, with ZERO throttle. Just sit there, it's called patience, and let the engine warm till it goes closed loop. That's when the rpm's drop to low idle. It might take a minute out of your life. But it might add a couple years to your engines life. The engine will be warm enough to fight off the shakes, somewhat. Make believe there's an EGG between your foot and the gas pedal at very low speeds in 1st and 2nd. I live in a gated community that has a 15mph, ENFORCED, speed limit and I'm over a mile from the gate. I DO know all about this stuff. When you get out on the highway mash the gas and GO!

Patience is very difficult to learn. I'm just getting it now at 66. And the roses smell real nice.
