Car pulls to the left when I let go of wheel

If I am driving and let go of the steering wheel, the car veers left and changes lanes pretty quickly. I also noticed the outside edge of the drivers side front tire is worn more than the middle. The passenger side tire has worn normally and the outer edge has more tread than the drivers side.

Can a worn intermediate shaft cause this? If the car is at a standstill and you turn the wheel back and forth quickly, you can hear a loud clunking sound. While driving, if you turn the wheel back and forth, it makes a a sound like something is binding.

Anyone have this problem and fix it?

Maybe you need an alignment

tire isn't wearing properly. main cause of bad alignment.

My car does the same exact thing, but to the right. I know for a fact its the intermediate steering shaft in my car, because it happens even after I get an alignment.

don't let go of the wheel. problem solved.

After you get the front end fixed that tire will still be an issue if it is already considerably worn. It's not going to unwear, you know?
