why is my mpg so bad

I have an 06 ss/sc And I don't the exact mileage I'm getting but it has to be around 13-15 mpg I use almost a quarter tank going on a 45min drive all hwy, I cleaned the throttle body and changed the air filter but it still did not help is there anything else that can be causing the problem

WOT will do that ... Are you staying out of boost? We should all be over 30 mpg with a tender foot. Maybe you have a leak? Do you smell gas anywhere?

Check your tire pressure.

and are you going by the DIC, or actually doing the math? How much of that 45 minute drive is top and go?

I get it, it's highway. I've seen the highway in Charlotte enough to have asked how much is stop and go for a reason.

Next time you gas up do the math and get a real number. Then we can find out how far off it really is. It would be interesting to know what speeds your doing on this highway drive too.

Thee check the usuals, plugs, air filter, tire pressures. Wrong tire size can make a big difference too.

Not necessarily. It could just be reading completely wrong because its shot and therefore causing a rich mixture, using too much gas.

there are lots of things it could be, o2 sensor, how cold is it outside? colder it is the less ull get. try different Gas station, iv seen my old car loose 100 kms to a tank cause of the crap gas where i filled up, is ur oil running low? if ur low on oil ur engine will work harder using more gas. check the easy stuff like that first.
