hey guys, cat question

im seriously considering cutting my cat out and putting a straight pipe there

l61

ive done it before, and i know depending on the motor, and size, and forced induction will affect if this is + or - .
so what about these l61s? i already got a magnaflow on there, i know it will be loud as ****. i think the cats shot anyways. but i suspect mpg and hp to take a **** because such a small NA motor
as if my 21 mpg city isnt terrible enough. i dont need any less..lol
yay or nay

I don't know why there's a cat shoved up under the car anyways. There is no performance gain from a feline mod.

The L61 doesn't mind having the cat gutted, did it when I had mine. It gets raspy as hell though, if I had to do it all again I'd go with a high flow cat. But then you're doing it to save money. Also had a tune and was seeing 35mpg on trips and 30 around town IIRC.

30 mpg town in a l61? ugh... **** my mpg is terrible >< roughly 21 town, 32 highway. that 4 speed humms at 3 grand at 120km/h lol
280 miles / 450 km to a tank in town. 420/680 highway (all town vs all highway)
