This car seems to hate shifting under 3k...

Hi guys, I've had the 07 SS/SC for 3 weeks now and I'm noticing that this car really doesn't like shifting under 3k and I still manage to stall it on occasion when taking off normally from 1st. To avoid stalling, I typically have to give it gas until the boost gage reaches 0 psi and then release the clutch. Is this normal ?

I've been driving stick for years but it's my first boosted car so maybe it's a question of getting used to it, plus the fact that I also drive my girlfriend's 03 manual Accent as often as drive the SS probably doesn't help.

Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks, that was a great read. It basically confirms what I already suspected. From now on, no more shifting under 3k.

Same here, I find it to be smoother UNDER 3k. I shift usually right around 2500 and it's pretty damn smooth. No clutch problems to speak of.

I guess you drive like my grand mother, because when I shift from 2.5k and hit the accelerator too hard, the car doesn't respond well. At or above 3k, no problem whatsoever.

Eh, I'd say I drive normally. I don't baby it but I'm not mashing the gas either. On the race track, it's a different story, but there's no need for me to drive like that on the streets.

I guess each is different since I definitely can't drive it like my 04 Sentra where I shifted at 2.5k while driving normally.
