Judging by the words "traction control light" I'm gonna venture and say LNF....

if you do have a LNF and your having those issues... id take it to the dealership... i mean only time ive had a CEL is when doing a no lift shift before its heated up and it missfires. but what your having is completely weird... unless its icy outside and your brakes are locked in the rear then your traction light would come on but as far as the traction light and CEL. im not sure

What if he broke a drive shaft?
If you have an open diffrential,, youll just sit there while the broke side free spins.....
But if you have a lsd then the diffrential would lock and youd start to go again, but youd be torque steering like a mother f%$^er.

LNF is the engine code for the turbocharged cobalt. Is your car under warranty at all? If so just make that appt.
