Car wont start back up
Car wont start back up
Okay long story short.. Last night at a party parked my car on the grass around 1 i left started car.. warmed up a bit started driving car stalls no power throttle would not move. Started it back up warmed it up a bit, ran fine drove it half way home an i notice my IAT'2's are at 203* I dont know ware they should be i have the ZZP 2.4 LSJ Stroker motor. Car started getting sluggish after noticing that, Barely any power. Pulled into a gas station that was closed an car stalled and wouldnt restart. Fuel pump primes but the fuses have no power to them Replaced fuel pump rewire fuse cuz that was blown. Car sounds like its not firing all you hear is the starter spinning the motor. No exhaust noises nothing. im completly lost. I have to go to work.. someone pleasee give me a hand here!.. give me a direction!..
Also threw code P1101
Also threw code P1101
Code means either something is wrong with the MAF or wrong with the PCM reading the MAF signal. IAT2's shouldn't be anywhere near that high just for reference. Might wanna do a compression test if you don't have any exhaust.
Also i forgot to mention the fuse for the rewire kit was blown i replaced it with no joy there and my buddy tested the fuse boxes fuses an a fuse for the after cooler did not have power.. ill make a list of them again when i rem what they where..
Yeah it just all of a sudden lost power it was running but barely lost engine power going up the hill i steped on it an it did nothing.. It threw another code P0230
I can understand if you AIT2 temps were that high then it's probably pulling timing and that would cause your car to run sluggish. Sounds like you have some electrical gremlins to work out. When you parked it in the grass what it wet, did water get on it and by it I mean anything in the engine bay? I would say do a good check on your fuses and make sure they are getting the right amount of volts and amps. Could be sending to much or a short in the system causing all of this. Could check your alternator and see what it is putting out. I've seen cars act weird when the alternator starts to go. don't know if you've done this yet but I would have it towed and try not to drive it untell you can verify the electrical stuff is working as it should.

Okay update found out the timing jumped an the chain has.slack in it no commpression across the board everyone is telling.me.bent valves an a cracked piston any other input on this new found issue?
Probably broken timing chain tensioner or guide. Were you using the old or new style tensioner. Also I believe the gm ecotec build book says the tensioner can fail if revving too high or spending extended amounts of time on the redline.
Umm i got a new timing chain an guide kit with tensioner from Advanced auto. its what ever they gave me an it worked with the car im assuming it was oem there was one gear in the kit that looked slightly diffrent from the other one that was in the original motor, idk if that has anything to do with it. Also the car has only ever seen 5 grand while ive been driving it im sure its seen a few pulls at high RPM while being tuned but thats about it.. when this all happend i was in 3rd gear at like 3k losing power. i hope its just a broken timing chain tensioner or guide i really dont feel like replacing valves an pistons on a great motor thats brand new.
If you cranked the motor over after the chain skipped teeth, valves are gonna be effed. Sorry to say it but that's just the reality of the situation. One tooth off on any of the timing gears and the valves hit the pistons
