Exclamation CEL with headers/downpipe

so, i put in a full exhaust... headers, downpipe with high flow CAT,etc. i keep getting the check engine light. i had a guy read it once at the Jan. SoCal meet. said it was a rear O2 thing...i think too much flow or something. i've tried getting spacers to gap out the sensor, and it worked for a couple days, then it came back on. Does anyone know how to fix it? plus, if it needs a reader and someway to delete it, 1... what brand reader and 2... is it illegal to do a rear delete?

any info would be great (i know this may be posted already, i just haven't found it and im in a hurry at work, so it's easier this way)

in your liberal state they will destroy you, auction your car to the seals, and find your parents and make sure they arent disabling their polar bear saving sensors.

youve been warned.

did you assure your gaskets are all installed? did you check that every bolt is tight? did you check that both o2 sensors are tight? did you check the connectors for the o2 sensors? if the cat is too free flowing, it will throw a code, if you have an exhaust leak, you will throw a code.

all the gaskets are there and the bolts are tight. i tried to buy a CEL eliminator from ARK, which says it will get rid of it...FAILED. the Ark things wouldn't even fit... not enough room between the downpipe and frame rail. i remember someone said they used a spark plug non fouler. found one, put it in worked ok, then the CEL came on again. i guess i will have to get a reader and clear the code, delete it if possible. just need help picking out a good/cheap reader as i have never had one before and don't quite know what to get

advance auto will clear your code for you, or sell you a reader so you can do it yourself, just make sure the package specifies reeds and deletes DTCs, you need to fix the problem, not remove the o2 sensor from the equation

i know i cant remove it. i thought other people were able to "remove" from the computer the sensor, so it wouldn't check it. i guess i will have to find that store near me....oops. there is no advanced auto in California

I have heard that getting a 90* adapter for the o2 sensor will fix the problem.

you can just get an interceptor scan gauge so you can delete it anytime you want. then just toss in your stock downpipe when you have to do inspection
