CEL from locked up Tranny?
CEL from locked up Tranny?
So I was a little late to school today and im guessing I parked my car a little too fast...I have a 06 cobalt SS/NA auto tranny and parked up a bit too far so went into reverse backed up a little and into park and off to class....
When I come out of class and try to turn my car on i got nothing... I had power and i didnt leave anything on checked the voltage on my capacitor and it read a good 12 volts I also checked the battery connections and they were all good so I thought about earlier when I parked the car and put the car in neutral first, Then it started right up....but it came up with a CEL
On my way home i checked to make sure the engine was running ok and everything seemed normal and its not in limp mode
Any ideas on what this could mean?
I don't have a OBDII reader but ill try to get it scanned or borrow a scanner from someone

Oriley's/Kragen/Shucks scan. So does Checkers. So does Pep Boys if they have a service center. Not sure what you have near you.
But yes, you can get a check engine light from the tranny. I got one for "torque converter stuck open" or similar once on a Bonneville.
