Check engine - 2 codes

Hey guys, my girlfriends 08 cobalt (non ss) check engine light came on lastnight. I got it scanned today and the codes it through was P0411 and P2440. Car doesn't feel any different or anything. When I googled I saw some people saying when they had those codes the car wouldn't start. I'm not having this issue, so confused what it can be, any help I appreciate guy!

Secondary Air Injection system

Could be Fuse, Relay, Pump or check valve.

Good luck, sorry i don't know much about that system.

Shouldn't hamper performance I don't think,

Yea that's what I just found. Doing more googling I see someone said their valve was stuck closed which threw the code and that if the valve was closed shut and can't open engine would run fine still. I just wanna make sure this all sounds right. But since I got both codes I don't know if it's just valve or if it's pump, and at $140 each I'd like to figure which one lol.

Shot in the dark, but there was a time when people were able to remove the air injection system and either get the dealer to overwrite the codes with a non SAI car tune or someone use HP Tuners to get rid of the codes.

My buddy was telling me it could be a leak in hose, or it's the valve or pump. I just gotta figure out what it is...

Start with the pump solenoid relay. P2440 is for short in solenoid circuit. Easy place to start, if the relay is stuck the ECM may be seeing voltage when its not expecting it. And you're correct, wont cause any issues unless you have to pass an emissions test. The pump just helps the cat get to temp faster on start up.

Ok I'll take a look at her fuse box to see which one I need and get it and try that out first, I'll report back after.

Do clear code to make sure relay work can I disconnect battery?

Can't find her user manual, and when looking at fuse box I can't seem to find which one is pump solenoid relay. Would it be the one marked Cool Fan 1, or Cool Fan 2?

On most GM cars the 30 amp fuse for the SAI system is not in the under hood fuse box or the under dash box. I'm searching for it's location now.

I'm only finding through Internet two fuse boxes which are the ones you said it wouldn't be located. So if you figure where it's out please let me know because I'm lost.

I can't either but looking at the diagram nothing in either of the fuse boxes seems to match.

Check all of the wiring to and from the SAI pump. It should have a fuse somewhere.
