This sounds similar. Check the seal on the gas cap. If the rubber seal is cracked or not there than thats what might be wrong. You cant have any leaks in there. happend to my moms car. Bought a new cap and CEL goes away. If not, then i dont know what else,

The "Check Gas Cap" message is telling you that the system is detecting too much air flow through the evap system - could be a loose cap, bad seal on the cap, leak in the fuel filler hose, leaking hose on the evap system, purge valve stuck open.......
If the cap is on and the seal is ok, my money is on the purge valve
And it should fall under the emission system warranty

I used to get that message too, and the p0455 code. Apparently there is a recall for 07s, the message and code come up but there is no evap leak. The solution is a reflash, but if you are tuned it will erase it. I just deal with it now.
Please don't over look this.....I had this same problem with my 06 sc and $400.00 later it is now fixed.....I was throwing all kinds of codes but it started with the gas cap code coming on just every now and then. If you have replace the gas cap then start looking at the evap system. Where you are going to notice this the most is when you get gas. When you get gas does it not want to idle?
