Choking on gas

Anyone having trouble with 09 SS sputtering and choking after filling up with gas? On my way home from work I stopped to get gas. Trying to get back into heavy traffic my car just doesn't want to go. It's like the turbo gets too hot and doesn't want to work. My husbandhas noticed the same thing. Is there a fix to this?

Try unplugging the EVAP Purge Solenoid....it's on top of the intake manifold at the front of the motor. Worked for me on my 2.2

I've had the same issue. Had maf replaced, 02 sensor and map sensor replaced and purge solenoid. The car will stop building boost and start bucking when just driving for a period of time. Can't figure it out, but its getting very annoying.

Did that solve the problem?

My car has done this twice this month where it does not boost, and starts bucking. This seems to happen at low RPM, especially in a high gear. I noticed when the problem occurred if I put the clutch in and rev'ed the engine, it would make one loud pop sound which I think is a backfire.

I almost got smashed into when pulling out into traffic because my car has done this. My car felt like I was starting out in 2nd or 3rd gear with no power or boost. But then all of a sudden it starts to drive like normal. I've taken it to the dealership and they said they can't re-create the problem. My check engine light has come on a few times and ever scan it is the EVAP purge solenoid code. Last time it was also a MAF code and VAF?? code. My check engine light goes away after normal driving.

I'm going to try unplugging the EVAP solenoid. If that doesn't work, then back to the dealership.

i've had the same problem. after filling up with gas it doesn't want to start so i have to pump the gas peddle to feed it fuel. then it runs rough afterwards for a minute or so then it's good to go. 40,xxx miles on mine. Taking it to the dealership later this week to see what the deal is. very annoying.

DO NOT TRY AND BUILD BOOST JUST AFTER STARTING THE CAR. THat bogging you feel is the car telling you its still in warmup mode. It goes away after a few minutes. This is normal. As far as after getting gas the car behaving funky, almost all the ss/tc's i know of do the same thing. Including mine.

woops, just popped back on. No, definitely not normal for it to do that after gassing up. took mine to the dealer last month and they're STILL trying to figure out what's wrong with it. now they're waiting on a tool to check the fuel injectors? my dealership fails.

could be this:
Ecotec Evap Vent Solenoid 25932573 - Crate Engine Depot

located near the weight on the back end of your car near the torsion beam.

I even have a How To that i submited for fixing the Vent Valve, but it didn't fix my issue.
https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-...-valve-240295/

I'm moving on to Evap Purge.

Both can be changed in less than an hour if you are doing it the first time. I could probably do it in 15 minutes now.
