I got an cold air intake on my 06 ss/sc . I replaced the cone filter with a dome shaped foam filter. "sounds super loud with it too !!!!" my question is at what interval should i clean my filter? I installed the intake and filter about mid march of this year . Im not to sure about the cleaning cycle on these "foam filters"

every 10000 mi is generally when you check an air filter

so ever 2nd or 3rd oil change depending on if you do them a 3000mi or 5000mi respectivly...

 

Go with every 10k miles. If you lived in a winter state, the best thing to do is clean it before and after winter. That's what I try and do with mine.

 

do you have a reusable filter? or do you need to get a new one. not all filters can be cleaned and reused. just making sure you have the right kind for what you're looking to do.

 

it would be best to check your filters if it can be cleaned or if its time for a replacement.. my brother had problems cleaning his air filters before, he ended up buying a new set of gmc air filter recharge kits.. good luck..

 

I forgot if the Injen cai filter is cleanable or not? Can anyone answer me pretty please =)
