Clunking Noise
Clunking Noise
I have an 07 SS/SC with a lil over 18k on it, I don't drive the car as much do to the high cost in gas price, I have a honda civic wich I drive everyday. Anyways.. I decided to take the cobalt out to warm it up. I drove it around and when I came up to a stop at a red light I pressed the clutch in and as I slowly released it to take off I noticed a clunking sound as I'm releasing the clutch in 1st gear. At first I thought it was the motor mount but I didn't remember hearing that noise before. I jacked up the car and visually inspected the mounts, they all look good and intact. So I took the car out for another drive to see if I can hear where it's comming from, but I can't figure it out. Again... it only makes a clunking sound only when I'm releasing the clutch from a dead stop. I drove over railroad tracks and bumpy roads to see if it may be the suspension but everything feels solid and quiet (suspension wise). I even turned the wheels fully from left to right to see if it was the steering but everything was quiet. The car is stock height with stock wheels/tires. The only mods I have is a stage 2, 2.85 pulley, cold air intake and exhaust. Anyone having this same problem? Please, no rude comments only helpful advice or opinion. Thanks in advance...
did you find anything.... I have same issue and im getting annoyed. It only does it evey once and a while to me but mostly when its cold. Let us know please what you find. And it only does it when your stopped and letting clutch engage into 1st.
