Clunking Noise (Stops when applying brakes)
Okay, facts:
(1) 2006, lsj-turbo, 32k-ish miles, exedy hyp. clutch (no more than 15k miles on it)
(2) OEM tranny, OEM engine (even internals).
(3) One brake job where front and rear pads replaced, front rotors turned.
(4) Sat for a year due to turbo converstion.
Story:
If you've been following my story (Crazy Mexicans thread), you'll know the history (don't bother reading for this). Anywho, I drive it around, and in every gear I get a loud distinguishable clunking as I'm driving. The clunking goes faster as speed increases, not rpm's. The only time the clunking goes away is when I press the brakes. I don't have to come to a complete stop, but simply applying pressure with the brakes makes it go away. I took it to my buddy who's a GM tech. I exit the freeway, and come to a stop to merge with another feeder lane, and as I'm taking off I lose all forward momentum in 1st gear (tires barely even spinning).
What my buddy did:
(1) Ripped apart the tranny and blue-printed it.
(2) Upon further inspection between my buddy and a master tranny tech, they determine the worst that my tranny had was some bushing needing replacement, and a fluid change (both of which completed)
(3) Axles are good (visual inspection)
(4) Wheel Hub bearings are good (not sure how he inspected these) on all four wheels
At this point I'm lost. I don't enjoy internet diagnostics, but I'll take any ideas at this point. Thanks in advance....
