Clutch issues...

ok, i have a 07 ss/sc with 5500 miles on it. mods include gm stage 2, aem cai, gmpp exhaust, strut bar, ingalls damper. i've only been driving a stick for 4 or 5 months now..

so today i was heading down the road and a buddy of mine pulls up beside me going in the other direction while i was stopped at a stop sign. he says to me 'get on it man i wanna hear that thing scream!'. so not thinking nothing of it, i was like ok.... i start out normally in first gear, get it up to about 10 mph, then floor it (still in first gear).. my tires start to spin (or tire, i dont have the g85 package). i go to hit second and the RPMs stay up around 5500-6000 rpm, so i shift to third, again the rpm's stay high. finally i let off the pedal and it 'catches' and takes off.... maybe i'm just being paronoid?? but i'm not sure if it was just that i couldn't catch traction, or if i have a clutch problem... any help is appreciated.

p.s. it was about 75 degrees out, sunny day (no wet conditions)...

p.s.s. i smelt it. haha, not completely 100% positive if it was burnt rubber i was smelling, or my clutch (like i said, im a newb when it comes to clutches) .. feel free to laugh at me. haha

you glazed the clutch, you shifted wrong from first to second and all you got was clutch slip, used to happen to me until I learned how to shirt while goin WOT. Make sure you shift over 3k and let the clutch unglaze for at least 500 miles.

Thanks a lot Ljavy17. So I should just take it easy on the clutch for a while? Sounds easy enough.
