Cold start

It has finally hit below freezing temperature where I live and it did it within a day or so. Since then my car has not wanted to stay running in the morning. It will start but then die. I usually have to do this 3 or 4 times then just decide to give it some throttle which then barely gives it enough to keep running. Is this a computer issue with the choke? it only started doing this when the weather got cold. I have not had a problem with it before.

Try some basic tune up stuff like plugs etc. Our cars run like dog **** cold as it is brand new and I'm sure if its in need of basic parts it wont be any better. Other than that idk what to tell you

Thanks for the response. I will try the O2 sensor and see if that helps

Check ur secondary o2, probably full of moisture, makes startup like crap for some reason

I had same issue and I cleaned and dried both and it runs perfect and starts perfect in cold now

I don't but I can easily get a hold of one.

Are you getting a p0601 code by any chance? I've had this problem with my car the past couple of really cold days. Thought the ECM had flaked a bit because I changed power door switches without disconnecting battery, but I guess not.

Looked for a How To in the forums on cleaning the O2 sensors and couldn't find one. Anybody have one? I'm not very familiar with this car yet.

Take em out, spray with maf cleaner for a bit, wipe off, let dry . That's all I do. If I'm right and its moisture in the secondary, it will come running out. Just spray it and dry it and should he good. I used light compressed air to help get the moisture out more quickly. Do u need to know how to remove the sensors? Get a so2 sensor socket, makes it a lot easier. Secondary is straight forward very easy, primary is kinda tricky to get at, shine light down from top by o2 housing, ull see it. Probably don't have to do primary, I'm pretty sure it's secondary that causes the issue. But I'm not 100% so do both to be sure. If that don't work, then we can help u figure out what's next to try

Thanks for the reply, Tom. I'm not sure where the sensors are located at, is the main issue. I'll check youtube and see if I can find a video of somebody cleaning them. If not, I'm having Pep Boys diagnose the car tomorrow, figure it's worth the $45, and I'll ask them to do it.
