Cold start- Low coolant problem

So I started my car today was cold out, so it didn't turn over on the first try- no big deal it turns over and starts fine but now the Low Coolant light comes on. So i check the coolant and the reservoir is a little low ide say maybe a half inch. I drove to the store about 1/4 mile away and the coolant light is off

Drive to work about 60 miles and now the light stayed off and I check the reservoir again when i get here and the tank looks about normal full.

Anyone have an idea about whats going on with this car?

Oh ide like to add its a ss/sc with 70k miles and I have never touched the coolant, added or changed, was planning on doing that this spring since it will be 4 in january.

Sensor is going bad. It is a common problem on these cars. Mine does it too, but only when it is cold outside.

or, when it's cold the coolant level goes low in your reservoir (says it on the side of the bottle), so when your engine warms up it fills to normal level again.

when you walk out to your car cold again, don't start it, but pop the hood and fill till the cold line. should be fine.
